High Wycombe RFC Camp Review

Over the Easter holidays Lions ran their first camp in Bucks at High Wycombe Rugby Club, and it was a great success.

Over the three days the players worked on both technical and tactical aspects of their game as well as physical qualities such as strength and endurance. These skills were developed in a fun and enjoyable environment with all of the kids going home with a smile on their face each day.

Charlie Hodson - High Wycombe U10s
Charlie is our Lion of the month after winning the player of the camp at our first High Wycombe rugby camp. Charlie was one of our youngest attendees as an U10 at the camp, however the way he played and conducted himself was that of a much older player. He was often one of the last players still in during our tag bulldog games, despite being up against U13 and U14 players. Charlie was a pleasure to coach throughout the camp listening intently to the coaches and answering questions showing his great knowledge of the game. We look forward to seeing him at one of our future High Wycombe camps.

One of the highlights of the camp was watching one of the under 10s players sidestep around one of the under 14s players in an effortless fashion, leaving him clean through for the tryline during one of our touch matches.

Our coaches were impressed with the high standard of ability shown by the players who attended the camp and hope to see more of Bucks’ talented young players at our next camp in the May half term. (31st May to 2nd June)
