Aylesbury Secures Second Camp For Summer

Having secured a Girls Athlete Development camp for May, Lions Sports Academy will be returning to Aylesbury in July to run a three-day minis rugby camp for those aged 6 to 12 (Boys & Girls). The camp will take place between Wednesday 24th - Friday 26th July.

This will be a non-contact rugby camp due to reguation 15 and it being the off-season for these age-groups. However, despite it being non-contact, we will look to teach the kids crossover skills that can be transferrable to other sports, not just rugby, and can be taught to the kids through fun warm up games. As well as developing these skills, we will also help to build the kids confidence and also their sporting attributes such as speed, power and acceleration. All of these attributes can be developed through speed drills that we hope to run.

For the older age groups or for those who are making the step between tag and contact, we will look to prepare them to starting contact in the new season by teaching them the correct techniques for contact and tackling etc. We will help to prepare their bodies for taking contact and make sure that they are safely able to attempt contact when it comes to the new season. We hope that by preparing them for this it will help reduce the risk of injury.

Don't forget that you can also use our 'Refer a Friend' scheme when booking onto this camp. All you have to do is get a friend to sign up to the camp as well and you could be rewarded with a free day or session in one of our future sporting camps or Athlete Development courses.

This is certainly one that is not to be missed. Share with all your friends and sign up now!
