Lion Sports Academy is a specialist sports coaching and physical conditioning company delivering coaching sessions all over Middlesex, Surrey and South West London.  Lions was founded on coaching Rugby and Football; we are now expanding in to Cricket, Strength & Conditoning and Futsal.

Job Title - Sports Coaching Apprentice

Hours a Week - 30 hours a week (Full Time)

College provider - Worthing College

Salary - In line with the national apprenticeship programme 

Start date – July 2017


Job Description

You will be expected to perform all duties which may be required of you in this role from the time you sign until your finish date. These will include by way of information and not by way of an exhaustive list, the following;

1 Planning, delivering and evaluating high quality coaching sessions to develop the performance and ensure an enjoyable experience of all participants.

2 Working independently, managing your own resources and professional development.

3 Working as part of a team and managing colleagues within your designated team.

4 Dealing professionally with students, clients, club members and colleagues.

5 Taking initiative and leading on delegated areas of responsibility.

6 Ensuring a professional appearance and approach to work for both yourself and your team.

7 Promoting equality and diversity in sport, rugby and active health and wellbeing.

8 Ensuring that health and safety requirements are promoted and met in all planned provision.

9 Increase opportunities for pupils within the Local School Sports Partnership to participate and compete in sport.

10 Learning and deploying a range of new skills to become an excellent team member and a skilled, reliable individual.

11 Supporting Lions Operations Department with delegated tasks including but not limited to: booking support, database management and customer service.

Applicants will be invited to an interactive open evening to get feel for the job. The evening will include talks from Lions C.E.O, Andy Jones and Trainee Manager Theo Skoumbourdis who has been through the programme and is now working towards his Level 3 NVQ in Leisure Management; Apprenticeship Mentor, Richard Hicks; and the evening will also include interactive activities to allow the Lions team to get to know the applicants.

The date of the next open evening will be confirmed in 2017.
