Worlds Unite Girls Rugby Camp
Rugby has, for a long time, been known for being a very masculine contact sport. However, women’s rugby has become one of the fastest growing sports in England, with 26,000 women and girls now playing regular contact rugby and 300 rugby clubs with women's teams. Therefore this is the perfect opportunity to promote the sport and help it grow.
This is why we are setting up an all girls rugby camp, dedicated to getting girls between the ages of 8 and 18 involved in the sport, teaching them the ins and outs of rugby. Whether they have a good rugby knowledge or have never before touched a rugby ball, this camp is for them - Intentionally made accessible for all.
This first camp will run over the course of two consecutive days over the Christmas holidays: 28th and 29th of December. During these two days, our girls will be taught by women international rugby stars - true professionals who live and breath rugby, such as French captain Gaelle Mignot, Australian International, Chloe Butler and England and Great Britain's, Natasha Hunt. Not only are they qualified coaches but their passion for the game radiates from them, making them the best people for the job!
These camps will allow a more one-to-one learning opportunity, as the coaches will have longer to get to know each girl individually. Allowing them to acknowledging both their strengths and weaknesses and enabling them to teach accordingly. This will be the perfect opportunity to meet some role models, make new friends, learn new skills, leave with an amazing souvenir to cherish and remind them of their time spent at Rugby Worlds Unite but, overall, to fall in love with rugby!
So if you want to give someone you care about the perfect gift to keep them moving and smiling over the cold Christmas period, this is it! All they need is their sports kit and an energising packed lunch that will keep them going all day long!
Who knows - they could become the next international women’s rugby star to play for their country…
